Super fun birthday

Since I officially rang in my 32nd year in Palm Springs, my husband planned a little surprise birthday celebration pour deux when I got back. Yay. We wandered through a street fair in The Village for a bit and then stopped off at Mercadito Grove for margaritas and mini fish tacos. YUM.

I am a self ascribed margarita connoisseur and this was BY FAR the best pineapple margarita ever. They marinate shreds of pineapple in good tequila (this is key people), just like we used to do at the Mexican restaurant I worked at in college. And the fish tacos were off the hook. Yet another menu item I am well versed in. We shared the Estilo Baja tacos: beer battered mahi mahi, Mexican style coleslaw, and chipoltle aioli; and the Pescado tacos: sauteed tilapia, grilled corn, huitlacoche, manchego cheese, and tomatillo salsa. OMG, I love Mexican food.

On route to the subway, we saw the Waffles & Dinges truck and decided we needed dessert. Because clearly we hadn't eaten (or drank) enough.

Belgian waffle with strawberries, ice cream, Nutella, chocolate, and whipped cream. Sooooo good.

And then we headed uptown to The Duke on 42nd Street to see Graceland. Have you heard of it? SUCH a good play. Witty writing and an amazing cast. I highly recommend.

Aw, we had such a good time. My husband always surprises me with something fun for my birthday. I love that.
